Beta terms

Thanks for trying Trine early. These terms cover the private beta. By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy notice.

It's a beta

• The beta is free and invite-only: you can sign up and apply, and we decide who joins and when.
• Things will change, break, or occasionally lose data. We may change features, limits or these terms, pause the service, or end the beta. We'll tell you about important changes before they apply.
• To keep costs sane, there are limits during the beta, like a number of photos per month and messages per day.
• When paid plans arrive, nothing will be charged unless you choose to subscribe.

Who can use Trine

• You must be 18 or older, and so must your partner. Each of you uses your own account.
• You must be in a part of the US where Trine is available, and use it only where that's legal.
• You're responsible for your account. Don't share it, and keep your password private.

About the personas

• Personas are fictional characters played by AI. They aren't real people, and the photos they send are AI-generated images of fictional adults.
• AI can get things wrong or say odd things. Don't rely on a persona for advice of any kind.
• Both of you should want to be there. Either of you can pause chatting, unlink, or leave at any time.

What's not allowed

• Anything involving or suggesting anyone under 18, including role-play and fiction.
• Content about real, identifiable people, or using someone's likeness without their consent.
• Content that promotes non-consensual acts, violence against real people, or anything illegal.
• Trying to get around our safety checks or limits, accessing other people's data, or automated scraping.
• Harassing our team or other members.

We check messages and photos automatically, and you can report anything from a chat or a profile. If you break these rules, we may remove content, suspend your account or end your access, and we report illegal content as the law requires.

Your content

• What you write stays yours. You let us store and process it only to run Trine for you, as described in the privacy notice. We never use it to train AI models.
• You can use what personas send you for your own personal, private enjoyment.
• If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Trine without owing you anything.

No guarantees

The beta is provided as it is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for losing chats or photos, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us (during the free beta, nothing).
